About Summit Psychology Services
"No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted." – Aesop
Our Ethos
In many world traditions, the Universe is often symbolised as a mountain. The quest for the summit, in many of these stories, represents an important human endeavour that requires great perseverance and courage. It is a journey that often demands harmonious teamwork, productivity, and the teaching of skills to prepare us for the paths ahead.
When we work diligently and tirelessly together and reach our zenith, the experience empowers us. We learn about each other, our strengths, and our own unique potential. And when we crest the next summit, we discover that we are more resourceful and resilient than we may have believed.
As people, we seek to find our place in the world. We create meaning from our shared experiences, and these experiences reveal a map of the potential for who we may become. We are all interdependent. When we work together with a common focus and help each other strive, we too grow and thrive.

Children and Young People
At Summit Psychology Services Ltd., we are deeply committed to the well-being of children and young people aged 5–25 years. We specialise in supporting those who face threats and barriers to personal well-being, with a particular interest in supporting vulnerable children and young people with a social worker and those in or leaving care.
We recognise that every child and young person’s journey is unique and often shaped by complex emotional, psychological, and social needs.
Our approach is grounded in compassion and evidence-based practice, with tailored interventions designed to address each young person’s specific needs. Whether it’s individual therapy, systemic family support, or working closely with educational and care systems, we aim to empower children and young people to recover from adverse experiences, grow, and thrive.

Families and Caregivers
We deeply value the vital role that families and caregivers play in the lives of children and young people. At Summit Psychology Services Ltd., we understand that creating and nurturing healthy relationships and a secure base is key to their growth, well-being, and ability to thrive.
Relationships can sometimes face pressure and tension, and when these connections feel strained, we are here to help.
Our services for families and caregivers include systemic family therapy, supportive guidance, and reflective conversations. We provide a safe space for you to explore challenges, strengthen bonds, and restore connection.
We are committed to building trusting relationships with families and caregivers, offering non-judgmental support to help create and maintain relationally rich and supportive environments for both children and adults.
Educational Communities
Summit Psychology Services Ltd. has a long-standing history of partnering with schools, multi-academy trusts (MATs), and alternative educational communities to promote mental health and well-being. We are passionate about supporting social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs within educational settings, offering a wide range of creative and evidence-based training, CPD opportunities, and consultation services.
For schools seeking to develop trauma-informed, attachment-aware, and relationally embedded practices, we provide systemic change processes that are tailored to your unique needs. Our TIAA self-evaluation framework supports schools in recognising, realising, and responding to trauma while ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for all students and staff.
At Summit, we believe that relational recovery is key to a thriving school community. By shifting the narrative from “What is wrong with you?” to “What happened to you?” we help schools create environments where every child and young person feels safe, supported, and included.
Our work extends to leadership teams, helping them develop relational policies, reflective spaces, and a culture of nourishment and care across the entire educational community.

Foster, Social, and Residential Care
At Summit Psychology Services Ltd., we provide tailored support to foster carers, social care professionals, and residential teams supporting care-experienced children. We recognise that behaviour is often a response to past experiences and attachment disruptions, which we approach with empathy and understanding.
Our trauma-informed, attachment-aware, and relationally embedded practices are grounded in frameworks such as attachment theory, polyvagal theory, and neuropsychology. We offer consultations, therapeutic interventions, and reflective conversations to help carers and professionals build non-judgmental, supportive relationships that promote healing and resilience.
By working collaboratively with social care, we develop effective strategies to move forward from difficult situations. Whether you’re supporting children in processing their experiences, stabilising placements, or fostering deeper connections, our compassionate, informed approach helps foster carers, residential teams, and children thrive.
At Summit Psychology Services Ltd., we are committed to making a positive difference in the lives of children, young people, and those who support them. Through our comprehensive range of services, we strive to create a brighter, healthier future for all.
How We Help
At Summit Psychology Services Ltd., we understand that every journey is unique. Our mission is to provide compassionate, evidence-based psychological and therapeutic support tailored to your specific needs.
We deliver effective support, utilising the latest research and techniques in psychology and therapy. Whether you are seeking individual therapy, family support, or professional consultation, we are here to provide a safe and supportive environment for you and to hold spaces that are respectful and open.
By combining our expertise with a commitment to relational care, we seek to empower those we work with to explore what matters to you, to grow, aspire, learn, and thrive. We walk with you on your journey, adapting our approach as needed, to ensure that your support is both personalised and impactful.
Systemic Family Therapy
Relationships are an essential part of our lives, and sometimes they need support too. Our family therapy sessions aim to improve communication, resolve conflicts, and strengthen relationships. We provide a safe space for all family members to express their feelings and work towards healthier, more positive connections.
CPD Events and Experiences
Summit’s training experiences, events, and CPD offers explore a range of topics focused on mental health and well-being. Grounded in the latest research and evidence-based practices, these sessions are designed to equip you with essential theory, practical tools, and strategies that can be applied in your everyday work, relationships, and life.
Each event reflects our holistic approach, combining psychological insights, related disciplines, and contemporary research to ensure that you leave with both knowledge and actionable skills. Our CPD events also offer valuable insights into specific challenges, providing you with the confidence and guidance to manage them effectively and with care.
Individual Therapy
We offer one-to-one therapy sessions for children and young people, designed to address a wide range of psychological, emotional, and social needs. Whether you are experiencing anxiety, stress, feeling low, disconnected from others, struggling with sleep, or facing any other concern, our experienced therapists use proven techniques to help you understand, work through, and make sense of your experiences, so that you can grow through what may be hurtful, painful, and holding you back.
Supervision
At Summit Psychology Services, we offer confidential and compassionate supervision for professionals working with children and young people. Our supervision cultivates trust, empathy, and open reflection, providing a safe space to explore work-related practices, develop new skills, and reflect on experiences.
We support psychologists, play therapists, education and residential care professionals, and those following trauma-informed pathways. Summit also supervises Excellent ELSAs across multiple regions, ensuring adherence to national standards. Our welcoming spaces in Newcastle-Under-Lyme and throughout the West Midlands are designed to offer flexible, tailored support.
Consultation and Reflective Conversations
Our Consultation and Reflective Conversations service is designed for all adults supporting children and young people in education, social care, and residential settings. We specialise in working with SEND, particularly Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Autism, offering tailored guidance and strategies to support professionals in these areas.
These sessions provide a collaborative, solution-focused space to address specific challenges, clarify goals, and develop practical strategies to support children and young people. Unlike supervision, which centres on long-term reflection, consultations offer immediate guidance on specific cases or issues, helping you problem-solve, gain clarity, and strengthen your ability to offer effective support now.
Whether you’re seeking advice on SEND-related challenges, refining your approach to SEMH or Autism support, or looking to enhance your overall practice, our consultations provide a proactive space for reflection and planning forward.

Summit Psychology Services hosts both in-person and virtual conferences, bringing together leading experts in the field. Summit has also hosted esteemed speakers such as Dr. Sue Roffey, Mark Finnis, and Sheila Burton from the ELSA Network.
